Just a little copywriting 101 here.

In studying business I discovered copywriting. Not copyright the legal aspect of branding but copywriting the actual writing to make your words sell. Words are really all we have to convey our message whether spoken or written. In business it is mostly in the written form like magazines, newspaper, billboards, signs, storefronts and the internet to name a few.

Your headline will either attract people drive them away or have no effect at all. For example take a look at all the tabloids and magazines out there. The copywriting starts with a grabbing headline to get you to look at the cover first. Then open it up and read the whole story. If the headline is good enough it gets you to stop in your tracks and either open it up or buy it right there.

This is even more important online because all you see is headlines. Like on a search engine, classified ad, a banner ad or capture page and other sources. You first see the headline then you click on the link and that brings you to the rest of the sales process. The headline is a call to action.

So basically if you don’t grab their attention right there on the spot they are gone. You might even have what they are looking for but because you may have weak copywriting with a weak headline you lose that customer and they go somewhere else. You really only have about 3-5 seconds to grab someone with your headline. If you don’t grab them right there they are gone.

If you are in business and paying for advertising then you need to have a really good headline because a with a weak headline you could lose a lot of money. Your whole business could rely on your headline. Your headline could make all the difference.
