Oil prices continue to rise each and every week. Nobody knows where it is going to end it just keeps going up. We are told that there is an oil shortage and that is why prices are going through the roof. Is that what is really happening? Let’s take a look.

In Iceland gas is $8.00 a gallon. In Europe it is anywhere from $6.00-$7.00 a gallon. Based on those numbers it does not seem to be too bad here in the US. Either way globally we are all feeling the pinch on our own personal finances. It is effecting everyone in every area of our daily lives and is only getting worse.

Big oil companies and OPEC control the whole entire situation. Who gave these people all the power to control everyone else’s lives? They are the ones who control oil on a global scale. Iraq could actually pump out more oil than Saudi Arabia if they were allowed. Which would bring oil prices down. Which also means that big oil companies would not make as much of a profit.

So there is a ton of oil sitting there in Iraq not being used. That does not sound like a shortage to me. The big oil companies and countries are enjoying history making profits and they are not about to give that up. It is all about bottom dollar profits, profits first, people last. It is a game of power and the average person is losing. More money for them less money in our pockets.

It is true that we are now using more oil than before because of growing countries, the demand is higher. So if the demand is higher why not make more supply available to keep up with demand.

We are led to believe that there is not as much oil as there was in previous decades. Is this propaganda or is it true? Well for one thing there are oil deposits all over the world that are not being tapped into. Here in the US we have oil reserves all over the country not being used with tons of oil just sitting there. There is not an oil shortage at least not right now. There seems to be plenty of oil it is just being rationed out for top dollar profits and for positions of power.

We are basically at the mercy of the big oil companies and there is nothing we can do about it, or is there?

In summary rising oil leads to higher prices at the pump and everywhere else. Every aspect of life is getting more expensive. Just driving to work is costing more without your paycheck going up. Who knows how bad things are going to get. You need to financially prepare.
