Friday 7-9-10
My family is the actual treasure itself. I would not trade my family for anything. Without my wife, my son and my stepdaughter I feel like life would be empty with no purpose. Having a family gave me some direction a purpose. When I was single I was just floating around lost in space. I would not trade my family for the world and all it’s riches.
I woke up one morning and asked myself would I change anything about my life? There would be a few huge mistakes I would go back and undue, a few life changing mistakes. But then I started thinking if I did go back and change anything then that would alter everything. It would alter the future and the family I have now.
Me and my wife actually went to the same grade school and rode the same school bus, but did not know each other. Knowing what I know now if I did start a conversation and let her know we would be together that would have changed our future now and we would not be together. Or even if I changed my future decision and not made the same mistakes that would also have changed everything.
Changing one moment in time would alter the future forever, and my family would not exist. I know I am not the greatest husband in the world. That I can change to be a better husband in the future. I would like to change our financial situation which is what I am in the process of doing right now. A lot of things can be changed just not the past.
So you see my family is my treasure in this life. Of course without faith I would have no family at all. Faith and family in that order.
