How many times has this happened? Someone approaches you with fulfilling your wildest dreams of personal and financial independence. With never having to work again and firing your boss. And then you find out it is network marketing and you run in the other direction.
This has happened to 1000′s and even 1,000,000′s of people. It is really a shame because if people only knew how this kind of opportunity can change their lives and what it really takes to become successful in network marketing things could be different for many people.
There are 3 main reasons for the massive failure in this industry.
1). First of all most people who are trying to sponsor others in their business, they themselves don’t even know what it takes to truly make it. They are told to get out there and talk to as many people as possible, with many different avenues of approach. This is actually true. The one thing that is not focused on is how to talk to people and what to say and how to say it.
There is a lot of training in network marketing and some of it is not really good at all. If you do not know how to talk to people your dead in the water, your business is over and your dreams are shattered. Especially when you first start out your not confident about what you are saying and people can see right through your lack of confidence. Proper training with the spoken word is essential.
2). Secondly the word “no” can be earth shattering. This one simple little word is the destroyer of many dreams. In network marketing and in every area of life. Especially in this business model. People are told, well most people are told to expect the word no more then the word yes. It is a good warning but most people really are not ready for that amount of rejection.
Some people hear a few no’s and that is it they are out. You will have to go through more no’s than yes’s. And that cycle can be devastating in which it usually is. Rejection is not something most people handle easily. You can not take it personal. Most people have no idea what they are saying no to. You have to be thick skinned and keep moving on.
3). Last but not least unfortunately most people are just plain lazy. We live in an instant gratification society now. Financial and personal freedom does not come easy. It takes hard work, time and effort. Playing the lottery is false hope. It keeps people in mediocrity hoping to wake up one day a millionaire without having to work for it. The lottery is a great disservice for people. In network marketing you can’t talk to a few people and expect to hit the jackpot. It takes a lot of time and effort to become successful in this industry.
In summary these are the main reasons I think people do not make it in network marketing. In this kind of business you have to work hard but also smarter. Smarter is the key point here.
