Mature Content-Is It Really Mature?

I was listening to the radio the other day and heard the term mature content being use for video games. You know some video games are not for younger kids due to mature content. So that got me thinking what is considered mature content?

Is mature content being able to watch people being killed, massacred, slashed to pieces and brutally killed? Is that really mature. My opinion is no.

It sounds more like immature content. I really don’t think that playing a game where you can kill for sport is mature for any age, especially for adults. What is so mature about that? That kind of killing can effect someone at any age. Now I am not one to tell a business what kind of product to put out. I just think that the word mature should be used for these kind of games.

The same goes for the movies. The rated “R” type or even pornography. Once again there are movies where there is senseless killing just for sport, not to mature. What so mature about pornography, absolutely nothing.

Now you may totally diagree with my point of view and that is ok. You have your view I have mine. However I truly think that as a society we need to come up with a new definition of what mature is. Our definition of mature seems to be immature not mature.
