How many of us would die for our faith? To actually give up our life in the present to have life afterwards? The concept sounds pretty easy, but to actually do it would be another matter altogether. This is exactly what Phanxico Truong Buu Diep did for the faith, let’s take a look.
As it says in scripture “save your life and lose it ,give your life up and save it” I am paraphrasing here. Not all followers of the catholic faith were martyred for the faith, many were and many were not.
Phanxico Truong was a catholic priest from Vietnam who gave his life for the faith in order to save it. The Lord gave him the strength to endure the torturing and humiliation never giving in to this world during his captivity. He joined the priesthood to save souls. His mission was to bring people closer to God, not only did he do this while he was a Priest here on earth but even in death he is bringing millions souls back to faith. He is no Longer physically here with us, but he is continuously praying and interceding on our Behalf.
There are many stories father Phanxico left behind to show the world the meaning of what true self sacrifice is. He was imprisoned because of his catholic faith and and offered himself up to the captors in order to save his parishioners from being burned alive inside the church.
Just like many martyrs before him and after him the love of God is so deeply embedded in their hearts that it transcended to all of the faithful. He was beheaded by the enemy of Catholic Church which is still torturing the religious in Vietnam at this present time.
This story has being told by many witnesses about a priest that was recently released from prison bought a framed picture of father Phanxico Truong Buu Diep in which he contributed to father Phanxico helping him to survive the harsh treatment that he received in prison. When he got home he saw blood was coming from this newly bought picture and the place where blood was dripping from was the exact location where the ax fell on him.
His picture was sent to Rome for further examination by the Vatican. How sad that we live in a world that has so much hatred for one another. Through the abyss of hopelessness shine a beacon of light that father Phanxico through death brought forth the message for all of us that hope, faith and love is the key that gives us the true meaning that nothing is impossible with God. Father Phanxico is with God but he never stops caring for his flock here on earth .
He is still praying for each one of us and our needs. Therefore people are thanking him for his intercession with God for answering their prayers by putting ads in the newspapers in thanksgiving or do charitable work in his name. Many people that are asking father Phanxico to pray for them are not necessarily vietnamese Catholics, but they are people of different faiths and nationalities.
Father Phanxico has helped people all around the world with various miracles. Which is why he is on his way to Sainthood. He is known in many different countries not just Vietnam. You see saints are real people not just figures. They are people who have lived a faith filled life who can be examples to us and role models in the catholic faith.
