Phanxico Truong Buu Diep On His Way To Sainthood

Saturday 03-13-11

How many of us would die for our faith? To actually give up our life in the present to have life afterwards? The concept sounds pretty easy, but to actually do it would be another matter altogether. This is exactly what  Phanxico Truong Buu Diep did for the faith, let’s take a look.

As it says in scripture “save your life and lose it ,give your life up and save it” I am paraphrasing here. Not all followers of the catholic faith were martyred for the faith, many were and many were not.

Phanxico Truong was a catholic priest from Vietnam who gave his life for the faith in order to save it. The Lord gave him the strength to endure the torturing and humiliation never giving in to this world during his captivity. He joined the priesthood to save souls. His mission was to bring people closer to God, not only did he do this while he was a Priest here on earth but even in death he is bringing millions souls back to faith. He is no  Longer physically here with us, but he is continuously praying and interceding on our Behalf.

There are many stories father Phanxico left behind to show the world the meaning of what true self sacrifice is. He was imprisoned because of his catholic faith and and offered himself up to the captors in order to save his parishioners from being burned alive inside the church.

Just like many martyrs before him and after him the love of God is so deeply embedded in their hearts that it transcended to all of  the faithful. He was beheaded by the enemy of Catholic Church which is still torturing the religious in Vietnam at this present time.

This story has being told by many witnesses about a priest that was recently released from prison bought a framed picture of father Phanxico Truong Buu Diep in which he contributed to father Phanxico  helping him to survive the harsh treatment that he received in prison. When he got home he saw blood was coming from this newly bought picture and the place where blood was dripping from was the exact location where the ax fell on him.

His picture was sent to Rome for further examination by the Vatican. How sad that we live in a world that has so much hatred for one another. Through the abyss of hopelessness shine a beacon of light that father Phanxico through death brought forth the message for all of us that hope, faith and love is the key that gives us the true meaning that nothing is impossible with God. Father Phanxico is with God but he never stops caring for his flock here on earth .

He is still praying for each one of us and our needs. Therefore people are thanking him for his intercession with God for answering their prayers by putting ads in the newspapers in thanksgiving or do charitable work in his name. Many people that are asking father Phanxico to pray for them are not necessarily vietnamese Catholics, but they are people of different faiths and nationalities.

Father Phanxico has helped people all around the world with various miracles. Which is why he is on his way to Sainthood. He is known in many different countries not just Vietnam. You see saints are real people not just figures. They are people who have lived a faith filled life who can be examples to us and role models in the catholic faith.

Do leave a comment with your own personal experience of a miracle or prayer that was answered with Phanxico Truong Buu Diep.

Back in 2009 I lost my job, I felt tired and desperate for some sort of a miracle. Having had all the free time one could think of, I started browsing newspaper (a local Vietnamese newspaper in Portland) and I see a very familiar sight, a picture of Father Diep. I saw probably about 20 or so posting on several pages thanking Him for helping them solve daily issues. I thought, I want to pray to God through him as well.

My exact prayer were: (In Vietnamese) “Praise God, Praise Father (Diep) you are a saint next to our Lord Savior almighty. I am praying to you to help me overcome these/this difficult and indispensable issue (list what you are asking for). I was without a job and also lonely, I broke up with my last girlfriend about two years ago and felt like I also wanted to include that in my prayer as well. So I asked him specifically for a job and soul mate. I did this once a day for 9 days (as directed in the news paper), and I waited.

I was on unemployment from June until December 20, 2010, that was when I got my first job in over a year. Three days later, there was a Nike’s End of the Year party that my dad, who works there, had two tickets to. My mom and was was suppose to be going that night but couldn’t due to some pain in her feet. So my dad said, ” Son, go with me.” I accepted, got dressed and drove him there. When I was taking picture with my dad, I saw a sight of a very beautiful girl and she caught my attention right away, I purposefully go around looking for her with no avail. I went around the pool table, still looking around for her, then at a moment looking up she was at the Foosball table with her niece. I came over and greet myself… Later when we were already a couple, she confessed that she was looking for me after her photoshoot as well. Honestly, in the last 3 years, my job as well as wages kept improving. My girlfriend always care and look out for me, I cannot express the type of joy I have when I know such miracles do happened, let alone, did happened to me. Of coursse there are many more minor miracles that He have alway asked God for me as well. Truong Buu Diep should be a saint!

    Thanks – TN
