If your like me I thought that doing some crunches and some abs exercises would get me a ripped stomach. Well I found out that I could not have been more wrong in my assumption. I started doing some research on this topic and soon found out the one reason why most people who are trying to get a ripped stomach like myself never achieve their goal.
Let’s take a look
After searching for information about six pack abs I found out that, “great abs are made on the kitchen table.” This was a revelation to me as it is to others on this journey of getting in shape. I always thought it was doing a lot of stomach exercises that made great abs, and that is part of it, but just part of it.
You see you can do tons of stomach exercises but unless you get the layer of fat off your stomach no one will ever even see your abs, you won’t see them either. It is your body fat percentage that will make your stomach ripped or not ripped. So your nutrition and diet will make or break your efforts to having six pack abs.
The body fat percentage for women is 15% and for men it is 10% to get that layer of fat of your abs and have good visible muscle tone. Of course you will lose weight in other areas of your body also you just can’t lose fat in your abs. Of course you will will also need some cardiovascular work to help shed your body fat. Then of course stomach exercises and other body exercises for a full body workout.
The way I see it broken down is like this diet & nutrition is about 50%, cardio work 25% and stomach exercise 25%. Without diet & cardio your stomach will never show. Take my word for it I tried just doing stomach work and got nowhere. People with great looking abs are in total body shape, it is the only way. Make no mistake it takes a lot of work there is no shortcut.
Once again believe me I tried.
I am presently at 15% body fat 5% to go. It is definitely a journey worth taking.
