This is one of things that bodybuilders, athletes and people with low body fat already know about. There is a lot of confusion about carbohydrates. You know the pastas, breads, rice, potatoes etc. Carbs turn into sugars, then stored energy in the form of fat. Unused energy stays in the form of fat which eqauls weight gain.
The first question is rotate them with what, I am glad you asked. Carbohydate rotation is rotating them with protein type foods basically meats, chicken, fish, lean meats etc. If you are looking to get rid of fat and have lean body mass you will need to know this information. It will make all the difference.
Just a quick note I am presently working on getting 10% body fat and ripped abs that is how I know this information, I’m in training. I am going to keep this real simple, I am not going to get scientific here, simplicity is the key.
Alright here we go. Carbohydrate rotation is done with rotating with protein. Protein will help you lose weight too many carbs will put weight on. So there needs to be a balance. Athletes can get away with eating a lot of carbs because they are very active and will burn them off quicker than the average person. Marathon runners load on carbs the night before for extra energy to burn off during the marathon. So how does the average person take advantage of this lean body strategy?
The average person needs to eat more protein throughout the day. I am not talking about the Atkins diet, your body needs carbs and will crave them. You want to rotate the carbs and proteins. For example when I go to work I will have a carb breakfast some whole wheat cereal to start the day. I do a lot of walking at work so I will burn it off, not a problem. On the days I do not work I am lazy so I will have a egg white sandwhich with 1 slice of whole wheat bread, more of a protein breakfast.
You basically want more protein on less active days and more carbs on more active days. This is carb rotation. Depending on your daily schedule or routine you figure out which days and which time of day to eat more carbs or protein. You defenitely want to eat more protein anyway to shed those unwanted pounds. You want to still eat carbs from time to time to keep that balance.
Too much or to little of something is not good that is why you need to balance it for best results. You want some protein at every meal and some carbs it just depends on how of each much depending on your daily rouitne.
